Emma Gonzalez, O.D. earned her Doctor of Optometry from The University of Houston College of Optometry (UHCO) in 2000 and completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Texas A&M University in College Station in 1995. During her time at UHCO, she engaged in humanitarian work with Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH), participating in missions to various locations, including Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, Managua, Nicaragua, and San Blas, Panama. She also gained valuable experience through an externship at Centro Boston de Optometria in Madrid, Spain.

After graduating, Dr. Gonzalez returned to the Rio Grande Valley, where she provided primary optometry care to patients of all ages. She was an active member of the Rio Grande Valley Optometric Society. In 2014, she relocated to the Houston area to continue her practice. In 2007, she obtained certification as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist from the Texas Optometry Board. Subsequently, in 2012, she became a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, demonstrating her dedication to maintaining nationally recognized standards of education and care.

Fluent in Spanish and English, Dr. Gonzalez ensures effective communication with her patient base. Beyond her professional pursuits, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as pursuing her passion for running, for which she has been an active member of a local running club since 2017.

Anusha Rachel Mathew, O.D. is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. She earned her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry. She became interested in optometry due to the versatility of the profession with its many specialties, particularly in ocular disease and specialty contact lenses.

Dr. Mathew practices full-scope optometry that includes comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, treatment, and management of dry eye, eye injuries, eye infections, and corneal and retinal conditions. She also offers LASIK consultations and co-management of cataracts.

She is fluent in English and Malayalam and can provide eye examinations in Spanish.

Dr. Mathew is committed to serving her patients with the utmost care for their vision and ocular health, ensuring all their needs and concerns are addressed. Dr. Mathew enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends as well as traveling, cooking, and eating all the delicious food Houston offers.

Scleral and Dry Eye Specialist

Dr. Wiley Walls is a native Houstonian and a proud Texan.
He considers himself city-country, growing up riding horses and raising dogs on his family farm. Dr. Walls is a proud graduate of Texas Southern University, where he pledged to Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. His charming charisma and dedication to service leadership led him to become Mr. Senior. He received his Doctorate from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences School of Optometry.

Dr. Walls specializes in Scleral Lenses and dry eye syndromes. In his final year of Optometry school, he received an excellence award as “best clinician” from his class along with the Johnson & Johnsons’ Award of Excellence in Contact Lens Patient care. Returning to Houston, Dr. Walls’ passions are caring for patients, fishing, big family barbecues, and training his horse Hera. His future goals are expanding his clinical knowledge and his family ranch.

Dr. Jocelyn S. Horiszny has been in private practice and an associate of Memorial Eye Center at Sugar Land since 1999. Dr. Horiszny specializes in primary eye care and contact lens fitting. She is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Houston College of Optometry and holds a BA in Biology with honors from the University of Texas at Austin. During her training at the University of Houston she presented and co-authored a research publication at the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Horiszny completed an externship at the Hermann Eye Center in Houston where she concentrated on retinal pathology. She also was an extern at Evans Army Community Hospital in Fort Carson, Colorado where she focused on primary eye care.
